A Heroic Halloween

Muscle Men

Mr. Bones

The Mighty Murdocks spent the day in town to celebrate Daddy's quarterly bonus. Out to lunch, then the boys went off to to see new super-hero movie, Astro Boy, while Supermommy finished up some Christmas shopping.

Raced home to change into Superhero costumes and join in the fun w/ our ward Trunk or Treat.

Super kiddos: Corbin & Kaleb!
The Mighty Murdocks
The Lovable Lines (Emma is another one of Kaleb's girlfriends)
Aloha from the Scoresbys

Flew over to the Weeks to do some real Trick or Treating with friends, per Superman's request. Hannah Montana told her Grammy that her boyfriend was coming to trick or treat with her tonight. Superman chose Hannah's hand over his Mom's...AS IF!
The Trick or Treat train made it up a street to the Pirate Ship and back, pulled by SuperDAD. Our man of steel was the only one who would brave the plank for candy.

A SUPER exhausting, but FUN day for all!

The Night Before Halloween...these were too cute not to share. Dress up & crafts...that's what we do when Dad's away. Sorry, babe!

My Girls

Wanted to post a pic of my beautiful girls before my own beauty makes her debut! This was a photo shoot we did with them (minus a bunch who couldn't make it, including our fearless leader, Jenna) in anticipation of Evening of Excellence. It was our last mutual before everything changed.

Oh how I miss them and feel blessed to have been a part of something so wonderful!

Preschool Party

Kaleb has been really looking forward to his first preschool party, and today was finally the big day! Preschool was full of crafts, games & songs, then the moms were invited to come for a little performance & costume parade at the end. Games included: Who's Got the Bone? and Put a Face on the Pumpkin (a version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey). They made Monster hands, sang 3 songs one of which was 10 verses long! Tons of fun, video to come!

Octoberfest

Here's a photo-fest of what we've been up to this month...enjoy!

Ben came home from a business trip late Thurs. night and on a whim decided it was "Bring Your Children to Work Day" the next day. While the men of the house were off at work, I rushed off to do some kid-free shopping, then met them for lunch.

We ate A LOT of chocolate!

Kaleb was Student of the Week.

The boys played "dress up" over & over & over again!

Role reversal: Kaleb threw a tantrum like a 2 year old, then fell asleep on the couch, while Dylan had a popcorn party on the other couch & watched a movie.
The boys carved pumpkins.

Kaleb's is ScArY!

Dylan's has "Mater" teeth!Too cute 2 year old!

U2 Concert OR bust! (thankfully I didn't)

A month or so I was kind of "done" with being pregnant, so I decided to keep myself happy-appy-appy, I needed things to look forward to until baby girl was born. Some of these included painting her room, Bunco, my baby shower, and the BIG ONE...a concert with some of my besties. When we started talking about it, I thought...yea, that would be fun, but we'll see if we actually pull this off. Tickets were bought, sitters arranged until husbands could be home, and a girls' nite was born!
Highlights:
*Care packages from Sandy...U2 or BUST filled with goodies, water, earplugs & tylenol (which we forgot in the car in our excitement to get there).
*Black-eyed Peas opened and did a great job! I think I was expecting a little more from them since I'd seen how crazy-into them everyone was on Idol when they performed, but they were good. Fergie was amazing & sang Big Girls Don't Cry, and of course the band sang their new hits BOOM-BOOM-POW (which Dylan goes around saying thanks to Ben) and Tonight's Going to be a Good Night (I had no idea this was their song, although I've been rocking out to it for weeks on the radio!).
*Crazy bump-grind lady across the aisle trying to get us to join her party.
* The U2 stage/set was pretty impressive...smoke, lights, sparkles & stars. Huge screen that could go up, down, and change sizes. Moving bridges & a 360 type stage to feel "intimate" with the audience.http://www.azcentral.com/photo/Entertainment/Music/12533#phototop
* Bono brought up 3 sisters and danced with each of them. He also gave shout-outs to Muhammed Ali & the McCain family who were there.
* The classics: It's a Beautiful Day, I Still Haven't Found, Where the Streets Have No Name, One Love, In the Name of Love, and the BEST... a starry-eyed rendition of With or Without You!
*ROCKING OUT WITH MY GIRLS & FEELING LIKE A {knocked-up} TEENAGER AGAIN...priceless?!?!

Pics to come, when photog-friend, Alisha, returns.

Showered with LOVE!

Sandy, me & Britt...hostesses with the mostest!
(Cindy... I need your much better photos, but these will do for now. :)

Tonight my girlfriends threw a baby shower for me and sweet baby girl. It was perfect & so much FUN! Against my friendly reminders that they didn't need to go all out, they did anyway. You should have seen all the details: PINK everywhere, super cute corsage for me made of rolled up baby socks, darling baby carriage cut from watermelon, vase of flowers wrapped in a diaper, beautiful red vase of roses, the list goes on and on. The food was delish, the company divine. It was so much fun to be together with my girls, to celebrate our baby girl! Not only did the party planners go all out, the party goers went all out spoiling us, too! You should see the gifts these talented gals made! If you know me, and if you're reading this you do, you know I love anything homemade. I just do. It means so much to me if you took time out of your busy life to make something special. We received handmade blankets, hair bows & flowers, diapers cloths, diaper cake adorned with flowers & a bow clip to match every outfit, and a personalized vinyl sign with cute saying. On top of that, my girlfriends have great taste...the girly outfits, shoes, jacket, "bling", pink tub, personalized toy, cherry red shoes, polka dot outfits galore... love it! My mom even surprised me with a special letter, pictures of the two us, and a bag full of clothes, some old (ones she'd sewn for me and kept from my childhood), and some new. Oh so cute!I feel so blessed to have such amazing girlfriends & know that our baby girl will be so blessed to be surrounded by these truly talented and loving women. Thank you for showering us with love... I truly have the best friends a girl could hope for!

Dear Blog,

I guess there's no use beating around the bush... I'm just NOT that into you! If it weren't for my lack of time/talent/money/space for scrapbooking, you would have been tossed aside long ago. But because this is my only form of recording the mountains and molehills of our lives, I must go on. One of these days I will publish you, and a family heirloom you will be. Until then, know that I'm doing the best I can and I might actually be busy living my life, instead of just recording it.

Blogged out,
ME
