I Remember September

Well, I'm back-blogging these fall months since life got away from me, so we shall see.  I changed my hair color. I was going for this:

 And ended up with this.
I even went back the next day for the gal to tone it down, so here it is after I attempted to curl it.
Even though I didn't get what I went in for, I was happy to have a change. It's also nice that my kids kinda look like me now.

My baby brother (& Golden Child) Jonny baptized his girlfriend in her parent's lake.  I was so sad not to be there, but one of their friends took pics and sent me a few. They called the next day and told me all the details, so I feel like I was almost there. Such a special day for our eternal family!

We had some of our copa friends over for swimming and soft tacos Labor Day weekend. I was a little busy cooking, cleaning and watching kids in the pool, so no pics.  But I'll post a few of the kids from our swim play date right before the kids went back to school. Most of these kids were raised together since they were babies!

Our summer pass to the AZ Science Center was expiring the same weekend the Lego exhibit opened, so we went to check it out after our friends left our little pool party. It was the best part of the museum and I wish the rest of it was more hands-on like this! The kids didn't want to leave. :)

We spent the rest of the week preparing for our ward campout the next weekend. I really wanted to go and thought it would be a great opportunity to bond with our new ward family. Plus I always wanted our copa ward to do one, but it never happened. Ben bought a new tent, and took Friday off. We dropped K off with the plan to pick him up at lunch, and it rained like I'd never seen it rain before!  Solid hard rain for hours, our pool was overflowing, and so Ben called it! (I love my man!)
We stayed in Mesa and camped at home. They saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid while I went kid-free shopping. We did smores over our fire pit in the backyard and set up our tent for the kids in the living room. Not exactly what I had in mind, but a fun memory!
The next day I hiked South Mountain with Alisha and ran into a TON of these guys. A muggy, fun hike! Here's another reason I'm in love with our new neighborhood. The scouts in our area fly flags for all the holidays.  It makes me so happy to see a flag lined street.  So grateful for our country, the freedoms we enjoy, and those who honor it.
