I don't know how she does it, but my mom is still there for me when I need her most, even across the many miles. Take this January, for instance. We came back from Utah with runny noses and colds. Ruby was on her second round and the doctors offices were booked solid, so I had to take her to an urgent care. Two urgent cares and a few hours later, and Ruby was given meds for an ear infection. We went straight to the pharmacy, which happened to be closed for lunch, then perused Walmart while we waited. They open again and have no record of our prescription. So in the middle of me trying to find where they sent the prescription, my mom shows up on my door. Yup. She's that awesome! She hitched a ride with Uncle Ron, Miss & Grandma in the RV and drove a few days with no showers and a cold bed to be with us. I think I almost cried when I saw her. Ben knew, of course, but it was a wonderful surprise for me and the kids. We didn't get Ruby's meds til 7 that night, but she got better.

Ben ended up going to Texas to take care of Blake for a week, so it really was perfect timing. We bought a new sewing machine, worked on projects, ate Mexican food, of course! She also got to see Dylan play soccer, Kaleb & TJ play basketball & Ruby's dance class a few times. We went on nice walks, and bike rides, shopped, and just had a nice time. She was also there when Ruby's lip was cut open and Ben was in Texas, so it was just really a blessing to have her here! I don't care how old and independent you may be, you will always need your mama!
