Wordy Wedding Wednesday

Katie & Ruby are 6 months apart.

So my baby brother and his darling fiance are getting married in July. The nieces are all wearing these dresses. Does Ruby's look like a cute maxi or an immodest pioneer? ;)  I'm thinking about sending it back for a smaller size so it's more of a tea length. I know she could grow into it & wear it longer if I leave it as is, but I'm pretty sure she's not going to grow several inches between now and then. Thoughts?

Spring Break Staycation

Ben had a different spring break from school than the kids, so he just worked through their spring break, but we didn't let that stop us from having fun!

Monday we headed to the zoo and met up with the Pospisils. We got there nice and early and the weather was great. The kids had more fun catching up with their friends than seeing the animals (me, too!). It did my heart good to see Dylan and Ethan together again and Kaleb & Andrew really hit it off as well. We saw the Orangutans play with palm leaves and the lions were really moving because they were about to get fed.  e also had a duck join us for lunch and kettlecorn, and ended the day at Stingray Bay where Kaleb got a high five from a stingray.

Tuesday we met April and Maelynn + kids at the cheap theater for Wreck it Ralph. K leaned over halfway and said, "This is AWESOME!" I hadn't seen Maelynn in a long time, so it was great catching up and meeting her baby Colbie. We also had Ayden come and spend the night. The stayed up late playing checkers, laughing, and being rowdy little boys.

Wednesday we headed to Maricopa for a picnic at the park. We stayed for hours and got to see so many of our dear friends.  Ruby was on one and refused to get dressed. I had some early morning stress with Ayden & Mindy, so I decided not to fight her, but she ended up at the park in her superman underoos with pink blingy boots. What am I going to do with her?!? That night we headed to ZOYOS in our pjs for half off fro-yo.

Thursday we needed a down day, and so we stayed home and met Ben for lunch. It was a great day for eating outside at In-n-Out. Afterward I braved WalMart with all three and the kids spent their allowance.  That evening they begged to help me make fresh squeezed lemonade from the lemons JoAnn gave us.  We sugared the glasses and had taco salad that night.  Delicioso!

We were supposed to go hiking Friday, but the weather was really hot, our cousins balied on us, and I didn't feel like taking the kids all on my own. We ended up taking a bike ride to the park instead. I think my kids enjoyed the park and friends days best of all.

I also bought a running jacket with thumb slots this weekend, something I've wanted for a few years now. That pretty much means I have to start running again. I mean seriously, it's been too long for too many things I enjoy to get pushed off to the side. I'm taking my life back, starting NOW!

New Truck=Road Trip=Sedona

Ben's new truck needed breaking in, so we went on a semi-spontaneous trip to Sedona.

We left Saturday and took Grandma out to lunch on our way there. Then we walked around the shops & had icecream when we arrived. At the hotel, we tried out the pool, but spent most of our time in the hot tub, which was really nice. The next day we went on an awesome hike. The kids are getting so much better at hiking and really enjoy it. Dylan loved being the leader this time and ran most of the way. Kaleb & I couldn't believe it! We went about 3 miles. Ruby held her own and walked about half of it, before she ended up on shoulders. We took lots of pictures, found some wildlife, and just enjoyed our time together. On the way back we stopped by the outlets, and Ben let me shop by myself, while he took the kids around. I really have the best husband in the world!
