We really went all out for Kaleb's birthday this year. He had it all planned out as to where to have his party, theme, guests, games, what kind of cake and ice cream, and on and on .Maybe you can get this for my birthday this year, any time any toy came on the TV for the past 2 months. When is it going to be MY birthday, almost every day since Ben's was March 24th. (Can you tell it's been driving me a little crazy!?!) But with all the times I got annoyed, and although I unsuccessfully tried to convince him our zoo field trip with his preschool could be a really fun birthday party, we went ahead and made his day doing things his way. After all, you only turn 4 once, and he's worth it!
Diego is Kaleb (and Dylan's) current fav. so we went with a Diego theme. This is the first cake I've attempted to decorate since the Elmo disaster cake when he turned one!
1. FISH: Dad came through big time on this and Kaleb woke up to find his very own pet fish. He loves him and named him Harry. The special effect of having a pet lasted about one day though, and now K's still trying to convince us we need a pet we can hold, like a pet dog or cat.

2. FAMILY: Grandma was Kaleb's first and best present. She flew in and surprised us the day before his birthday showing up at the zoo! Kaleb kept saying, did you really come just for my birthday? And you're my best present... so cute! Again, it only took him a few days to realize it was really neat that she was here, but why didn't you come to my 3 birthday or my 2 birthday, Gramma? Ben also took the entire day off to help with all the craziness!

3. FRIENDS: Kaleb loves his friends and has a special group of buds here in 'copa and a few cousins in Mesa that were able to make it, too. If Kaleb had his way, we'd have playdates all day every day!

4. FINALE: We heart Sesame Street in our family. I grew up on it, my boys are growing up with it, and they really do love it. They know all the characters, songs, and on and on. So when I found 2 for 1 tickets to Elmo's Green Thumb at the Dodge Theater on Kaleb's birthday, I couldn't resist. It was a big, long day... but Kaleb's best birthday yet!
