Memorial Day Mini-Vaca!

We were so fortunate to be able to stay at Babs & Jared's place in beautiful California this past weekend. A nice, relaxing weekend on the beach is just what we needed... especially me with Ben being gone all the rest of the week. There's something so great about being away from your home/job/worries/every day life & spending time together as a family without all the distractions. I was so proud of Ben... he didn't even turn his computer on.... and for the record I didn't check my email/facebook/or update my blog either! He also let me take morning naps, have some alone time before we hit the beaches, and rubbed my feet at night. The boys did AWESOME in the car both ways & it was probably one of our best getaways yet!

Highlights: new favorite beach, Crescent Cove, a state park that's not too crowded, beautiful beach and tide pools to explore. Kaleb got to see a black crab walking sideways. Both boys loved the waves and couldn't get enough. Dylan also loved playing in the sand and was so happy the entire time we were there.

This gave us a little taste of summer, minus the stiffling-suck-the-life-out-of-you-heat, that we used to know and love. Now we can't wait to leave and do it all over again with the fam in Oregon.... one month and counting!
