For the past few years, a family who owns a farm in our stake, gives small plots to families if they tend them and help with a community garden. This year with no pregnancies or nursing babies, I decided we'd finally take advantage and go for it. It's been so much fun & we've had quite the harvest, plenty for us and enough to share the goodness with friends. All we had to do was plant, weed, and harvest, and the farmers water it for us. We've grown zucchini, squash, cherry tomatoes, an onion, green beans, cucumbers, snap peas & lots of lettuce. The lettuce was really bitter. SWEET! We've been loving all the produce and the kids love feeding the goat families our weeds afterward. Can't wait for the melon & corn to come on. :)
