Fingerprints
If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly.
-President Thomas S. Monson
I feel like I'm drowning in laundry, dishes, and I'm lucky to get anything beyond that done every day. I won't even bring up my floors, the dust, or the bathrooms & boys rooms that always seem to smell even though I JUST CLEANED THEM! But I try to balance work with play and paying special attention to my little ones. This week Kaleb and I read chapters of Stuart Little together and he told me that my art lesson in his class was the best part of his day. D and I "read" Waldo several times, made cookies & Valentines together. Ruby and I slept & snuggled and painted her toe & fingernails pink..."it's pretty, Mama!" And although I love a clean and organized house, I know it doesn't last, but neither do these childhood moments. One of Ruby's new sayings is, "I love you SO MUCH!" and that's how I feel... I love my life SO MUCH, especially the people in it.
The house can wait! And maybe, just maybe, someday I can hire a cleaning service. ;)

Student of the Month & Spirit Week
Kaleb really worked hard in school in January and was chosen as the Student of the Month. He doubled his usual reading minutes at home. Kaleb rediscovered the joy of Calvin & Hobbes and the Magic Tree House and logged in over 700 minutes! Mr. Davis said he really earned it and the whole family came to his Wall of Fame Ceremony. This year he chose several colors. We're so proud!
Check out the Picasso artwork in the background. I think K's is the middle one by Ben's left shoulder.
Tuesday was Backwards Day....only Krazy Kaleb is skinny enough to wear his jeans backwards!
Wednesday was Twin Day and he and Bella dressed up in purple Suns tshirts & jeans. Thursday was Crazy Winter Day. Yes, that's my ugly sweater. I can't believe he wore it to school!
Friday was his Student of the Month ceremony, so he just wore his normal clothes because it was White Out day. My cousin, Stephanie, recently told me she loved all the stages her kids went through, and I'd have to agree. Although I miss my sweet baby K sometimes, having a big first grader is such a thrill!

Kaleb loves school and really got into Spirit Week. Monday was Celebrity Dress Alike Day & he dressed as Drew Brees, the Saints Quarterback.
