Dylan's Real Birthday

D was such a cutie about his birthday.  He was so excited, he could hardly wait! He got a fun package from the Christensen boys a week or so early, and from that day on, we had to check for packages every day.  Luckily, Grandma & Papa sent one and it got here the day before. He was in heaven!  On his real birthday, Ben had to leave on a business trip, so we got everyone up early and had cinnamon rolls and gifts at 6:30 AM so he could be part of the fun.  He got some super hero and Ninjago things, along with a ball from Ruby, then Ben & I surprised him with a baby leopard gecko.  He loves it, and named him Speed, not to be confused with Speedy, which he is not.

It was a nice, cloud covered day, so after dropping K off at school, we went straight to the zoo. Since it was Dylan's day, we went everywhere he wanted to go.  First to where the lizards live along the Arizona trail where we saw lizards, snakes, condors, golden eagles, little owls, jack rabbits, and more. We then headed over to the Komodo Dragon, elephants (one was waving his trunk for Dylan) and them the orangutans. There was a mother-daughter up close to the glass and Ruby was mesmerized...she did NOT want to leave.  We then headed to the carousel and tree house for a long time and then made another BIG loop. We ended up seeing the entire zoo (minus the farm, which I hate) and got rained on. The lion was up on a rock and looked at us, the howler monkeys were really howling, and I should probably not mention what the desert tortoises were doing...let's just say it was loud & crazy! It was a really fun, memorable day!

That night we just stayed in & our Bishop's wife dropped by with a card & candy for Dylan.  So sweet!  Our house was a WRECK, but he wanted to show off Speed, so in they came *so embarrassing*. She has 6 kids, so I'm sure she's seen it all.  WE SURE LOVE OUR DYLAN-BOP!
